Are you in a rut? Feel moody, feel unhappy?

There can be many variables in that equation.

It can be bad habits, negative people, or a toxic environment.

But if it's not that, what could it be?

Another reason that many tend to ignore is this one: Routine

If you've been doing the same thing over and over again, where does the excitement go? Where is the challenge, the freshness?

So here is 1 simple solution:

Do something different

You don't have to abandon all your plans or habits, but just add one new thing to your life. It can be something as small as a song.

Here is what I mean by that:

I listen to a lot of music.

I hear it every day and guess what, like many of you, I love to listen to the same 20 songs out of my hundreds and thousands of other ones.

I've reached a state where the dopamine rush is coming to an end and pulling up my playlist with the same songs I've been listening to for months, isn't that fulfilling anymore.

And that can be a real downer because then, you start to feel like something is missing.

That can be applied to all other areas of your life.

You come home from work and just don't feel like doing anything anymore. Why?

Well, still has the same answer: You're probably stuck in a routine.

Your range of activity is too predictable.

You know exactly what you're doing in 2 hours in 5 hours, and you know what your next day is going to look like.

Of course, that is boring. What do you expect?

So, back to my advice: Go do something new.

When I'm going for a run and I start listening to the same shit, it drains out my energy and I feel like I'm getting tired so quickly. But then, when I find a new banger, and it comes on, out of nowhere  I'm riding on this energy wave.

It's like your life is filled with a purpose again and your workout turns from a pain in the ass to this incredible thing you don't want to quit doing.

So what has that taught me, and what can you take from it?

This was a trend that I was able to see in other parts of my life as well.

Meeting up with friends and doing the same activities again. It just got so boring and you felt the urge to just break out.

Then do it. Apply change.

Make the effort to find new music, take a different path when you go to work, and say YES if somebody invites you somewhere.

What do you have to lose?

Going back to your comfort zone? There is nothing new.

That's how adventure starts, you just say yes to something, something you normally wouldn't do.

And when you agree to do something you normally wouldn't do, guess what, chances that you will experience something cool, that will bring some fresh energy into your life, are pretty high.

Higher than staying in your comfort zone.

Just try to add a new thing to your life, something that takes some effort, something that interests you, whatever.

But just try it out, and see how you'll feel after a couple of times.

And if you do, let me know… I'm curious.
